Spawnkilling, alowed or not
« on: July 16, 2015, 14:35 »
Like topic is saying.....

Its allowed or not and if yes can we do something about it?

Specially on Torland. There are a few skilled pilots where only goal is to get easy kills.
Yes, its a tactic to slow down the opposite teams but in my opinion annoying as hell (specially on node 1 and 5 due to crap weapons)

what about 10 sec spawn-protection, a anti spawn-protection mutator or just kick spawn-killers  ;D

Fire away :)

It's not nice, but is legal. Spawn kills are something everyone attacking a node/base will do anyway. I don't see the need for rules that a lot of decent citizen would end up breaking.

Sure, some players are the more annoying type who only do that and are not helping their team at all, but it would be hard to explain who gets to spawn kill and who doesn't or when taking a drive to a locked node is not nice.

I'll consider increasing spawn protection time a bit.

well, maximum in a game there would be 3-4 spawn killers in each team. Some of them come after constructing node 3 and to get the next node but by the time they reach node 3 is destroyed so some might think they are spawn killing and I hink there is spawn protection (golden color coating) for 5 seconds or so...In that time getting into the portal and transporting to another node is good option.

In faceclassic, there are less spawn killers but some players taking raptor out of bounds and shooting missiles which annoys the team which they are playing in. If you could do something about it, would be great, raj! ;)

This is no issue. The issue is real spawn killing. ie. killing and waiting for players to be spawning where the node is locked and 3 is far from getting linked up.
Btw. on a non-demo server remembers to the last node you teleported to and you will re spawn there. Might be an idea to look into that?

or get rammed away until the timer runs out. Also the spawn protection is gone as soon you fire.(by design)

Orbital ion attack should fix that   ;D

But i guess we have to deal with that

5. No camping at enemy power core unless your team has captured more nodes.
So. if your team have 3 nodes (up to centre). Is that legal to camp in enemies base, sitting on top protected by spiders and putting mines on raptor?

Changing the node you spawn at prevents this..

Thats a way to prevent base campers? deadly boredom for all campers? ::)
And isnt it forbidden to joinswitch? The most spawnkillers and player "reserving" locked nodes are joinswitcher as well.... :-[
Or is it even legal to sab the own team? teamkill and throwing away vehicles....

Some rules are not so bad for a nice game which EVERY player enjoy´s :)

Really, there is a rule for teamkilling, but no rule for sabbing. Should be included.
Some players just take vehicles and get them away or e.g. just sit in tank with the only reason to sabotage.

It's not that easy to determine that automatically.
But if you will record that smb acts bad and publish on forum - admins will ban him.

interesting avi just took the word here. Cause he is one of the most worst spawnkilling ones in the game....
If he is in vctf in the tank then he enjoys it to shoot the spawning places all the time he has.
In ons he is not only attacking nodes his team cant even attack no no no. If the node is finally built up through time e.g., and still locked he goes on spawnkilling... His sentence, his post, in this thread is nothin more than to laugh about the "maybe-option" he can be banned one day for all this crap he does in game. Not only spawnkilling, look at the kickvote thread.
