AnnouncerClassic.uax

Guys,

I have an issue when trying to watch demos. UT tells me I am missing sound files like AnnouncerClassic and UTPlusSounds.
I managed to find the old files as uz2. I decompressed them and placed the .uax files in the Sounds folder, however still get the error message. Has anyone experienced this as well or have any idea how to fix?

Have you tried to put the other utplus files in your folders too?

You have just that view files in your sound folder? I have 148 there. =D
You also need AntiTcc2009r2 .. get it from there http://72.249.10.61/

Try putting antitcc, too. May upload the demo and someone can try if it's not working, than share files. I would do, but can't before next saturday as I will not be on my main pc the week.

P.S.: OffTopic: in the video I posted in the shoutbox, I spectated you the last round. Nice gameplay.

Good idea of testing the demo on a different machine. If I can get the announcerclassic file then I can view 99% of my demos. Unfortunately it is not just this one
I remember it was a common issue back in the day, where this file gave errors for people. However it was easy to fix because of so many good file directories still available i.e. http://www.esreality.com/?a=post&id=1430265. However those links are now dead so cannot find the right version of this file.

I guess if I can find someone that can play the demo, and get their announcerclassic file then I can replace it on my machine and it should work!

Yes. Only one of them seems to work. I can hear the AnnouncerClassic alright if I select it under Audio, just strange why the game don't recognize it on the demos.

Would it make sense to upload the file here @piggy? The game isn't getting younger and more and more sites disappear, maybe others in the community might need it in the future.
