Hey guys Im still alive (Kobe/NXTLVL)

Guten Tag,

You have probably seen something about a flood in
Germany on the news I guess. As life goes thats the
city I live in (Ahrweiler). Water levels increased by 8
meters within a few hours and nobody was expecting
anything close. We had a „flood of the century“ back
in 2016 but then water only went up by a little over
3 meters. So this was something we have never seen
before anywhere in Germany. Luckily my belongings
are mostly unaffected. Got my car to safety in the
last possible moment as it was already engulfed in
water. My apartment is on the 2nd floor so thats fine
too.

Im 2 weeks without electricity so far thats why you
havent seen me kick your asses on the Freon
server yet (writing from phone). Just wanted to
let you know Im alive and well. Not sure if anyone
knew where I lived until now. Gonna add a few
pictures I took on the morning after the flood :)

This is the street I live in (my apartment is in the
house on the center of the picture). I couldnt even
get back inside after I got my car to safety. So I
spent the night watching Basketball on my phone
in my car :D You can see the max water level on
the house walls.

This one is taken from my window at like 10 am
after I could finally get back inside. Water levels
were down by at least 2 meters already at that
point.

It took me a long while to notice that car in the
bushes in front of my window. I dont know whose
car that is and if the owner has found it already

Heres also a video that shows the valley I live in

Holy shit, you are from Ahrweiler. ???
Someone from my team lives not that far away from you and told me what happened there and how if felt for her, but seeing the pictures, especially the one from my window brings it into a completely different relation from what you've seen everyday in the news.

I hope you'll be able to sort out the most of the trouble soon. Are you equipped with everything essential atm?

Yea I got everything and life slowly returns to normal day by day. Most of the trash people had to get out of their devastated homes has been transported out of the city onto trash mountains of unimaginable size. The city is still kinda muddy and dusty and it smells bad. I miss green grass patches as weird as it sounds. The entire ground in the city is basically just brown. My apartment still lacks electricity (for a few more days I guess) and hot water for some months probably. Taking a shower in ice cold water is something Im not looking forward to every morning :D But as least I have water. The first few days I didnt even have that. At times like this you start valuing things you never though would be a problem. Washing your hands was impossible. You couldnt get clean water anywhere and I only have soft drinks and beer at home. Its something so trivial but you couldnt even get the dirt off your hands and I had to sleep like that for 1-2 nights. Also I never would have though that crossing a river would be a problem. I mean during the hot summer days you can cross that river with rubber boots. The flood destroyed almost every bridge and the ones remaining were only open for police, fire fighters etc. I was kinda stuck here for the first days. It was crazy.
