I don't know if it's a straight live recording as the mix is very tight, but I am pretty sure the sound is really coming from those instruments.  If you look at their other videos that's their thing - they are very creative.  They've been around for 10 years, tour constantly and play live so I doubt it's all faked.  Instruments aside it helps she also has an amazing voice.
