Can't download the survival mappack?  (Read 5997 times)

Can't download the survival mappack?

I tried downloading it from 2 different mirrors, but my WinRar answered that the archive is using an unkown method...
I've updated WinRar twice, still doesn't work.
What should I do?

newguy is right, you need 7zip to unpack it. it is also in the discription of the file on the download site.

7Zip or any other advanced archiving utility.

What's with this WinRAR obsession? It's not even free. Do they advertise it on TV or something?

Actually, you don't have to pay for it.

Buying it just disables the annoying "THIS IS THE DEMO, PLEASE BUY IT" Popup... :D

I use freecommander  ;)

but it can't open 7z files :(

7Zip is the way to go - no matter if you're using Windows or Linux.
It has an open source and the developers want it to work with any archive availlable.
WinRAR should be good - it's commercial, but it's not compatible with anything and still not as mature as 7z.

In fact, Vanico is right, you don,t pay for Winrar, at least if you are not stupid and accept it.

BUt 7zip is free and just better then it.

until I read this treath, I only knew winrar.

I suggest to add it a FAQ
