Hey guys!
I found another good shell replacement. It's called SharpEnviro http://www.sharpenviro.com/wp/

This is just the unconfigured desktop after the first start.
It looks like Linux with gnome desktop, but it's Windows XP with SharpE

The bars and the menu are transparent
Well, I like to compare it with bblean, like Raj uses:
  • you have an integrated player menu (wich not only works for winamp, but for all media players) in the toolbar.
  • also there is a switch for virtual desktops (wich worked faster for me than bblean).
  • I didn't experience a bug with the tray in the taskbar, but on Win7 I had a bad crash of this shell (maybe becasue i did not install it), also it disables the 3d window switch; but my first tries on winXP were good
  • One more option is to replace the explorer with an alternative file browser like explorer² or explorer++ (however, my favorite is the QTabbar for the original explorer)
  • it comes with desklets like a weather viewer, clock or a drive monitor
  • you also use your normal visual styles for windows

Unfortubately i got a very bad worm on my computer wich i couldn't remove comletely (i get malware and a crashing system everytime i get online), that's why I haven't tested it too far, but it's just my test system anyway

confess, it takes more performance...

However, I'm glad there are some custom shells you can use, but I wonder why all of them have bugs on my systems o.O

Here we have my newest system: Bodhi Linux 1.0.0
http://www.bodhilinux.com/

It's very lightweight and fast, but it still looks great and even runs on very old computers.
There is no style you have to stick with: everything is free configurable, but to make you start faster there are some presets you can choose.
Free configurable and lightweight means in this case: there is just a file manager, webbrowser (Midori - looks like a lightweight mix of Firefox and Opera), text editor and a little system and styling stuff - you have to install all the other things before you can really do what you need.

It's based on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, but with another shell and windowmanager: Enlightment.
The menu style reminds me to Blackbox.

Just give it a try - The CD only takes about 350 mb.
Of course, it's a Live CD, that means you don't need to install it - just boot up the CD.
