Today for no apparent reason when entering UT i get the message ""The UT2004 master server could not be reached.", i got that few times before but somehow manged to solve it, i spent last few hours without luck.
I have "UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2004 EDITORS CHOICE EDITION 2.0.0.6 GOG" version from PirateBay
I tried reinstalling 3-4 times, nothing. I even downloaded older version from PirateBay from 2011 that required Daemon tools to mount, it could not run. I am on 64 bit Win10.
I tried several patches including the UT2004 MegaPack + Patch v3369 from here https://www.unrealcentral.com/ut2004-patches/
I even tried this advice from 2015 https://forums.beyondunreal.com/threads/new-to-ut2004-no-servers-found.204007/

Edit: Go into your UT2004 folder. C:\UT2004\System\UT2004.ini open UT2004.ini in Notepad. Look for this section.
Replace this section in your UT2004.ini with the one I provided. Save the changes. Start up the game. It should work after this.

Nothing. I reset computer number of times, nothing. Tried right click run as admin, nothing.
I can see servers are up so problem is clearly local. I did not do anything since last night, it just stopped working.
I also tried proxy, nothing. Every time the same "Querying Master Server" and then ""The UT2004 master server could not be reached.""
Any help would be appreciated.
Just tried shutting AVG down if maybe it is firewalling it for some reason, nothing.
I also tried disabling the Windows Defender Firewall, same. I don't use any other antivirus or firewall.
Just did "update and restart", nothing. This is probably some Windows issue, lately i had issues with Windows, programs crashing or refusing to start, restart helped, but for this it doesn't.
Now i consider reinstalling win cause i don't know what else to try.
Master master server is down. It's not you.
It helps if add the servers to your favorite tab so you don't have to deal with the master server being down.
To manually connect to server use in console:

Please don't use pirate key. A genuine key cost nothing these days.

The game has been many times 0.99 - 2.99 on sale. You need to look for it once a while.
I'm not gonna open a thread just for this but i gotta say, equalizer should be deleted. It is dumb, it balances nothing, it screws the gameplay all the time. You try hard to get those captures for the team and then you get switched. What's the point of playing then? Why not disable the score too or let scores also switch randomly, it's pretty much the same thing.
I noticed others comment lately how useless it is, how it does not properly balance at all and how even if it takes into account player's stats it cannot predict how much "inspired" the players are at any particular moment, it just messes things up, it is totally useless.
I think it would be fair if you make a poll, let as many players vote, let's see who wants eq to stay.
Eq makes sense if say mulitple players from one team leave in mid game and get replaced by bots, for that situation it makes sense, but other than that, just no.
For the Warfare server the only time a player gets switched is where the team numbers are off by 2 or more. In that case the latest joining player gets swapped to even the team numbers. That's not changed. There's no new balancer doing that. It's always been like that on the mia servers.

I had most fun on PBG which has sadly been offline for a long time now.
That server was crazy crazy fun, not many real players but they would pop in occasionally,
you had multijump by default like 5-6 jumps so you could get almost anywhere...
you could ride a deemer and i remember an air-fight me and this other guy on
deemers, shooting each other with snipes, so much fun, tanks could fly and climb trees,
and weapons were all modified, flak gun for example shot these slowly expanding waves that
killed all they touched, rockets were shooting much faster, everything was hyper in a good way....
you had those sentinels (automatic weapons) of various types you could place where you want.....
it had bunch of maps waaaay better than Mia maps, i wish i saved them, never seen those maps
on any other server, like supermario 3D, or roadkill or something like that with that long bridge
between bases phenomenal map, then this one i cant remember the name of which had a big
pool between two buildings/bases and there were tunnels from the pool leading into bases...
I talked to him once over email, and second time i emailed him he did not respond, website

I have to report this. In short, these couple of MORONS (hell, quadro, risel and jp), have started trolling me for really nothing.
I'll say what happened as objectively as i can. I first joined blue with soma just at the end, he was alone, in red was hell and someone else, i scored for win, then they started trolling each other, anyway.
They voted Edge, soma left, and it was me and hell against quadro and someone, and hell "brightly" somehow assumed i will stay in the base and defend, i almost always attack on that map so i did this time. They did a manta run of course and scored 1 or 2 quick ones, hell then told me to stay in the base, but i was already at their base and told him to stay in the base which he of course did not listen to, they in midtime scored few more, he then started to troll me how i "can't do 1 thing", HA, and quadro stupidly agreed with him.

Then they voted Abandon-Fix, the big snow map with towers. Now i was playing with quadro against hell, it was like 6 on 6. BTW i offed him with a shockgun like 10 times in 1on1 dueles, i don't think he offed me once. Anyway. Situation came where i got the flag we were all on the right side of the blue base (looking from the base) and i hid behind the wall, i did not want to just start going on foot toward our base and they all started shooting at me (my team), like go go. But i wanted to wait a bit for them to clear them up and hopefully someone bring the scorpion which would increase the chances of getting to our base immensely. Anyway, that waiting did not last more than 5-6 sec max, i then exited the cover as they wanted and of course they offed me and they did not even manage to save the flag. Then quadro started shit talking me, he and risel kickvoted me, and they all joined in hatin', of course this was candy for hell.

Hell has nothing to show for hes comments. I have had enough games where im teamed wiht him and he cries on the chat how nobody defends. Yet even after i cap for us and tell him to defend this man child rather keep crying and blaming others while saying he knows how to defend and attack yet does not show any of that. Hes like lost puppy when not teamed with top players leading him by leash.
Quadro/top players/admins will never admit you played better than them at that moment. When they lose or die against us its always luck/bug/lag/team no matter what we do its never skill on our part. When they lose its always low skilled players fault never the fact that other team might have more high skilled players.
In the end its 2004 game where boomers and millenials play to win and not have fun. Like its some popular modern game with ranked ladder.

I understand the thing between you and quadro but this happened later when you left (or were specing).
I already explained what happened, really, they had no reason to blame.
And even when there is a reason (speaking in general), it's no excuse to act like a jerk.
It's not a matter of skills but matter of motivation/concentration, at least with me. I know well how precise i can be with shockgun when i am motivated and all the rest. When i am not motivated i don't even try, of course that then your precision goes way down. Same for everyone. If you played long enough today, you knew that I am having a massive issue adjusting to my mouse settings as holy was kind enough to tweak stuff for me and as a result my mouse is ultra sensitive and I was forced to readjust everything. In short, hell was a total noob today.
Now with hell playing as a noob and lets assume you are a good player, do you think that we had practically any chance of winning against 2 of the best manta runners and fast attackers in UT? Even if I play my best, this game was to be decided by who makes the slightest of errors.
Now, knowing the above, you had zero teamwork with me meaning zero chance to win. Also, even if I defend and you attack, do you think you had a 1% chance of returning to the base alive without Quadro slicing your head off from behind you or ender killing you on the underground path without me covering you. So, the point is, we not only needed teamwork, we needed EXTREME teamwork. So, now you decide why I asked you to defend. it would not help us win as the combined speed of quad and ender > me + you. Proof: In bloodbath, soma joined and Quadro lost rapidly because of same equation. Me + Soma > quadro + another player.

JP knows a ton of map secrets and is kind enough to even share than keep it to himself just to kick you ass and show off (he could have) but he decided otherwise and showed me many secrets. He will also kick ass in fron more than VCTF and guy is very supportive player. Risel is among the top manta runners and as you know RU net is having issues. She is EXTREMELY good team player , awesome manta runner and suffers due to bad net. Calling them low level is not really cool.
As for me asking people to defend and do stuff. You can ask Quadro how many times he smiles and takes advantage of my public message (which I do on purpose to teach people the importance of intel and strategy). Eg: If I say "defend noobs" you can see quadro do a manta run in 5 seconds as he saw hell is saying base is empty. Why people like quadro score against noobs is because the players are doing obvious mistakes. When no-name for example is a manta run heaven and you noobs won't put bender on flag knowing quadro will attack in 5 seconds then yes, hell will call you a noob as that is how you play like.
Also, when you tell me to defend, hell yes I defend. My defense is not waiting for Quadro's manta to come while I keep looking left and right. Sorry kuha if you are too pro to understand, my defense is to attack their manta and destroy it to buy our noob defense time while our attackers (you) can score. So, when you do score, instead of thanking my service , you insult me. This shows why people like me on a real tournament can kick ass. Imagine , me + quadro + your low level (JP+RISE). We can take you down in minutes SPECIALLY if I go on discord and for once we decide to play like saint and me, caracal and all other discord players used to do.
Do not forget you Kuha were part of discord and we learnt a lot how hard it is to coordinate but we got there and continued while you stopped.
So, when I call people noob, that is a way to push them to become better players. Not like a school yard name calling. I genuinely want them to get better as it is more fun to win against good players.

As you say you were incapacitated by mouse, so it would've been logical for you to remain in the tank in the base which demands far less mouse movements, stopping those manta runs you expected from them but didn't even say anything until they already scored like 2 times.

Eh, it's always "just a joke" when one is called out for trolling (attempts), never taking responsibility/accountability. Screenshots clearly show that you well crossed the lines of friendly morning chatter. No it was not a joke, quadro really got pissed lol, he and risel kickvoted me, and they joined in hating. So i did not "take it to heart" i just saw it for what it really was, i don't care, i just think it's pathetic that grown ass people stoop to such degenerated low level to insult and join in trolling (attempts) just cause of their (mis)perception that someone made a "mistake".

If people can talk about you like this, it normally means you are playing sub par to what you usually play. Have you seen us trolling a usually bad player who we know will always be in the lower half? ICH has taken 100 times more insults from Quadro and me even if he is an excellent defender (very stubborn and hence a huge pain lol) and to me , that is what I think needs to lower a notch.
Also, YES I want others to do in a certain way but have you ever realized what I say is the most optimal way to win? Even Quadro can be heard saying "give me just 1 player with brains". It is because, only 3 players doing teamwork is enough to win most matches. I am not thinking I am the best. Why on hell would I ask help from holy or ask JP about map secrets or ask plaka to teach me manta runs. However, I stand by my advise which I give in game like "camp underwater" or "take down lexa" etc as that is the most urgent things to do to win. If you disagree with them , just don't follow. However, there are people like saint who actually follows them and helps massively to coordinate a fast manta attack etc.
Also, Risel is an excellent game artist and me, Quadro, ender etc etc are all buddies who talk on a daily basis about everything other than just gaming. So, maybe you are missing the bigger picture, but we are highly competitive in the game and call each other names but outside the game we are friends who are talking about life and other stuff and all these people are more or less very helpful and cool.
Lastly, since you talk of skills ok, I will up a notch to prove a point. Do not forget that we have all full time jobs and most high skill players have the luxury to practice all day long. What stuns me is that people do noob things even after 10 years of playing a little everyday ;)
Anyway, please do not go insulting people like you did to Risel. No one ever told you personal things other than a pinch about your lack of interest in the morning maybe. Why risk a temp ban by letting your emotions. Atleast be assured I do not mean to insult/troll you just for the sake of doing it. And yes you have zero obligation to follow my advise in the game. However, if you have any advise for me, ask me and mostly I always answer the call. Eg: When someone says defend (and I am sure that the player is a good attacker), hell yes I defend. If you want proof, watch all my videos of the longest yard map. Hell since a month has ALWAYS defended in that map causing us to win big time. So, yes I defend.

LOL, i hardly even noticed her presence in-game, she never dominated me 1on1, that's how "good" she is, her average score is 2.45, mine 2.94......i always say scores are not the main thing and they really are not but they do say something.

As for "how not to fall off the manta" you only show you're still bitter about YOUR lack of skill from that arcade match when you dropped me off manta multiple times cause you had no elegance to duck with manta before the ramp/slope, to smoothly rise into the air vertically, you crushed into it brutally like a brickhead. You, unrealistic as you are, deny me that i am solid manta driver, in fact i'm one of the better ones when i'm in mood, just 2 days ago i did a really nice one in Fortress carrying gillad i think it was, not even going to the tower first to get a straight exit route, but going into the air straight from our base, making a smooth turn/landing and escaping with the flag, not that hard really.
