Hi all!
I would like to be able to practice cards on my own as I think it could compensate (a bit) for my lack of... agility and aim... :-[
I have fun with you all but there's also too much FR and others country lads that hit too often my head :D
Could someone tell me how to get the mod and maps locally?
A long time ago I knew UTcache extractor, I ran it but with no results.
Any advice? THX
Hi,
Many of the mods run server-side, so you can't get exactly the same experience offline.
You should be able to extract all the maps/mods that run client-side. I don't use a cache extractor. I just copy the file from cache to the appropriate directory and rename the file - using information from the ut2004/cache/cache.ini file.
I tested it, it works great!
Thank You Piglet :)
If you get a message for file mismatch when playing online at any point after doing that it means there's been an update to the file on the server and it's now different to the one you have locally. Rename/Delete the one in your install and get the new one from the server.
I didn't thank you again Piglet! My bad.
It works perfekt!
A great THX
@ piglet
I've arrange everything with the Map files, that work great but when I play on local I don't have the shooting speed and other features.
I guess I've got to get some others files (the MIA ones?) in my system directory, but I wasn't able to find where they go ( .u .utx .uax).
or did I gert something wrong?
I confess I sometimes like to kick bot *ss on local when I've had mine kicked online..
Some things run server-side only - so those parts you don't have locally.
Is there anywhere we can download MiARezQ versions of maps that are played on Warefare to test offline? Most UT download sites only feature the old VCTF maps ::)

You can find the Miasma maps in the cache folder. Just copy the file and paste it into your ut maps folder with the correct name. And done, you will be able to train awesome Sup's moves
Yeah - just copy things over from cache to install - however if those things are changed you will get mismatcnes that the cache system normally sorts out for you.
I do this manually, but there are a number of cache extractor utilities. Search for "UT2004 Cache Extractor"
I must be a nab because when i copy it to maps nothing happens. I see files like this in my cache '0C13459B4790BBBFCBCFD397E1E22D7B-1' which are not .ut2 ? i tried using UCC decompress command prompt but it says 'Access Denied' ::)
You have to change .uxx to .ut2 - just rename the file :)
Thanks I just tried this and it works for some maps and not others. Also, it doesn't fix the file names so you have to guess the map names based on your knowledge lol
I'm using UTCacheExtractor v2.1.0 to grab the maps.
I run it directly from the System directory.

Is that compatible with Windows 11? Most UT extractors are ancient and made for XP so they don't run for me ::)

Works like a charm.

W11 here and running fine.
It's a standalone exe and can be downloaded here: https://gms.cyberrock.net/download/ut2004-cache-extractor-v2-1-0/
Thanks i'll give it a go 8)
Thx Piglet for this infos.
Another option is to back up your cache folder and delete all maps from the cache, then you join the server when it is empty and choose the maps you want to download, then you will know which maps are in your folder. Some maps won't work (due to a missing file, etc.), you'll have to open it with the unreal editor and save, at least that's what I did
Thanks guys it's working now, I can practice maps >:D
