If you are trying to download what doesn't look like just maps from the server (eg ONSBPTextures) and it's really slow it's probably that you are not patched up to the latest version of ut2004

The game often costs less to buy new than a pint of beer. Unfortunately for all the people who have used this warez key, one of you has been banned - and that will affect all of you using it.

Maybe a site like this will help you get a legitimate copy - but if you get the gog edition, please ask for your own unique key otherwise you run the risk of that widely used key being banned here too.
