Maybe patreon.com or directly to card

Thanks a lot man :) I hope you guys bin it! I work with everyone across the globe too and indeed most people are nice. The bad apples are always the individuals and never their origins.

I will find some time and link you what I come up with regarding the donation mechanism. I am also going to think of an easier way to setup a donation method. (I was thinking about patreon.com like Timon mentioned but undecided until deeper thoughts). The new server is awesome. My aim which I ALWAYS blamed on my net actually comes down to the server. In the new one, I hit what I aim first time in many years! So, if funds permit, this server is one kick ass beast.

 Until then, cheers :)

To keep renting the server we're using would be 157 EUR/month. Nardaq_NL very kindly paid for this test. Thank you.

To buy a similar server would cost upwards of 1,500 EUR and then hosting and maintenance costs on top.

I'm bugging a supplier and a local datacentre guy for quotes. Nardaq's also getting info.

Those prices seem to be a bit high.
You can get Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel i9 9900K (5ghz single core turbo) for about 70-80 euro including VAT.

Our setup is absolutely unique. We have a server version which wasn't ever publicly available, and a somewhat different berserk setup that needs higher power CPU than a standard server.

We have a week left on the test server rental and then will be moving back to the previous machine while we work out what to do next.

Ideally we need an E-2174G based machine to run on. Renting a physical is going to be too expensive for the community to pay for monthly at the rate donations have been coming in, so we're investigating buying a machine.

The CPU is hard to get hold of as its current replacement has been recalled.

If anyone knows how to get hold of a 1U server with one in at a good prince let us know!

I don't know very much about hosting servers, but from watching Christmas movies, I do know that a good prince is tough to find.  O:-)

I'd be willing to kick in maybe a couple hundred euros to help get things off the ground if needed. How many others need to do the same?

I can have good discounts with DELL.
I orderered from them for like 500000€ of computers and servers 2 years ago and we keep ordering replacement comps on regular basis.
Just send me the server spec and i will ask them.

For ut servers, look for the highest frequency/ipc cpus you can find, iirc it only runs on single core.

You could try locking each server to its own core or 2 cores, to avoid thread jumping by windows scheduler.

I dont think you even need more than 8 cores total for 4-5 servers.

Better disable turbo, look for the highest base frequency cpu.

Hyperthreading should be off, i think.

Use 32bit server only, 64bit has some issues i think.

Not sure if it runs best on 64bit or 32bit windows

You might need windows server 2003 maybe older for minimum issues.

Linux version has some tickrate issues, people used to avoid it.
