There's also some very useful info here:  https://miasma.rocks/index.php/topic,1485.msg17632.html#msg17632
Apologies @Piglet, I was a bit of an ass  O:-)

And here: https://miasma.rocks/index.php?topic=1477.0

I'd recommend saving a pristine copy of your install folder to a safe place in case it all goes wrong.  A copy and paste of the folder has saved my sanity more than once :)
I also keep a backup copy of a good working System folder, and a separate copy of User.ini, UT2004.ini, and ut2004-win64.ini file in case a change stops the game from running.  Again, speaking from experience.
• Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

No problem!

When on any of the MiA servers you don't need to (are probably best not to) change netspeed unless you have a very very low bandwidth connection. On the servers here now they default you to a netspeed of 50,000 - which is really helpful to both client and server in high-spam situations.

The reason for this is that on high player count games there is a lot of activity. That activity needs to be known by the game client (i.e. your computer).

The netspeed is the client/server communication bandwidth. Where the netspeed is less than needed by the server to give your client the information it needs this causes problems to both you and the game server:

1. The server has to spend precious time deciding what is most important to you that fits within the bandwidth available. This is processor intensive and can result in the server CPU usage increasing massively.

2. The act of culling by the server means that your computer doesn't know everything that is going on that could impact you. Your game on your computer donesn't get all the relevant information and so can't show you on the screen everything you need to know. It doesn't know about things that may matter. You may start getting hit by rockets the server know about and is tracking that wasn't able to fit into the message to your computer. You may lose visibility of the rotation of things and start getting hit by things you can't see or aren't pointing on your screen where the server knows they are pointing.

So - where possible, on the servers here, don't change the netspeed. It's already going to be about right.

Tell me about it!  I've spent more time than is considered healthy trying to achieve a high (and stable) fps rate.

The screenshots are from a few min's ago from the same map with around 6 people playing.
Sometimes my fps shows a long string of red numbers, but goes back to normal on next launch.

when i go back into ini after chging and trying out its reverted to +90.0.

I'm not sure if this is linked to Dynamic Netspeed or not, but this should be unchecked (Settings -> Game tab)

• Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

lol

Make sure the game isn't running when you make changes to your INI files.

...and if you still have problems, come back and tell us. It shouldn't be difficult or stop working.

Still have some small issues around settings but more what im comfortable playing ie input speed of mouse - i want it how i used to have it where my movement matched the other players for quick reaction snap shots but its not right - maybe i just need to find a setting and stick with it and get my muscle memory back.

I used to play on a very small desk space, so had a 360 degree of movement in-game for 7cm of mouse movement. I played like that for years and it made spectators feel sick...

These days I have bigger desk and a less responsive confgiuration. Some of the better gamers have huge mouse mats and get very accurate as they have very low sensitivity - they move a long way to turn a bit and have a lot more control over aiming.

I do this weird thing where if I need small quick adjustments I twist my mouse rather than move it... Not sure what my sensitivity is regarding degrees in-game vs mouse distance travelled, will report back if I feel like measuring

It's about 5cm per 360

I had exactly that with spectators as well Piglet - I mainly just used my record of achievement to make rollies on and mini mouse mat.

Yeah, I can never be bothered to move my arm that much for close quarters + the more accurate the mouse setup the more it highlights my slightly b'llcks aim  :'( :))
I have the same problem as before - I still make rollies on my mousemat - I do find I have good aim after hoovering the mousemat for about an hour  8)

Think my fps flips between 88-89. I'm only running the 32bit as I got the steam version, haven't actually checked dir for 64.exe

I do this weird thing where if I need small quick adjustments I twist my mouse rather than move it.

My technique is terrible.
In normal PC mode I rest my palm on the mouse and move my arm to navigate around the screen (35").
In gaming mode, I adopt a claw grip and my wrist stays put, and even though I have a 120cm x 60cm full sized desk mat, my mouse barely moves outside a 3" x 1" box (I'm conversant in both metric and imperial) :)

I still make rollies on my mousemat - I do find I have good aim after hoovering the mousemat for about an hour  8)

I'd recommend going down the vape route rather than combustion.  Your lungs will thank you for it, and there's very little smell.
My weapon of choice when vaping is a Storz & Bickel Volcano.  I've been using the Hybrid for years, and before that I had a classic and a few other sub-par devices.
For portability I use an Arizer Solo II.  I also have a S&B Mighty, but prefer the Solo as it's a cooler draw and just feels better in the hand.
You can buy attachments for micro-dosing 0.15g per session.  I tend to do this for a while before removing it and packing the bowl to the gunwales :)
You can also carry a balloon full of vaped material from room to room.

Here's one I prepared earlier :)

• Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Ty Grim. It's one of those things I've been meaning to get round to for years, like trying shatter and wax etc. Just found a pic of my old setup with tiny mouse mat. I'll dump it on the discord channel, saves me hassle.
