DPI and mouse mat size

Annihilator:
G MX518 or the vulgaris variant? The ordinary kind is a good rat, but lacks 1000 Hz polling rate. That was my old rat, which I replaced. The newer, G model, is fine in that respect, but I opted for the Razer Deathadder V2 instead - and I'm quite pleased with that theft.

Blub:
The very first model that was released, not sure what version that is. It replaced my MX510 which unfortunately broke, still the best looking mouse I ever owned.

easiest way to compare

go to empty server or instant action, start game

place crosshair over some object
move mouse to right (or left) until you've turned 360 degrees and pointing back at the starting object
measure the distance you moved the mouse

360 on mine is around 6",. I know some of the hitscan guys need to move mouse a lot more (furthest I heard about was 14") :)

(edit ah see already 360 degs mentioned above!) :)

Yeah I think that is my problem. 2cm for 360 degrees roughly  :))

Thanks for the input everyone.

I was watching how much they move the mouse on some of the tournaments last night, and was thinking my god  :-[

Piglet:
14.5cm (5.7") / 360 here on a 30cm glass mousemat.

I used to run at 7cm, until someone showed me that was why my aim was so bad. I could aim in the general direction really fast....but with no precision.

Nice piglet. I know what you mean: aiming in the general direction quickly, probably why I always preferred flack cannon :))

Just tried it on the Tam/freon server it feels really weird, but more precise. Dropped my DPI to minimum and cleared a load of the mousemat - from various items that magically accumulate near my pc! It's a 45cm by 35cm mousemat, might as well use more of it.

Got the in game sensitivity in the options set to 0.75. Mouse acceleration is off - I remember that from titan  ;)
