Map vote will not open

Recently, even before I updated with the new patch 3374, I can't open the map vote.

Any ideas?

In your System/User.ini check that you have this configured:

...
MapVotingMenu=xVoting.MapVotingPage

Okay, I checked and it is correct. I have a corrupted file, maybe?

Could be.

The first thing I'd try is to backup your System/User.ini and System/UT2004.ini and then restart the game. If you can get the map vote menu then you know it's the configuration and not the game files. You can always compare the backed up ones with the default ones to see where it's different.

If that doesn't work then maybe try a full install https://www.oldunreal.com/downloads/ut2004/full-game-installers/ and then copy in your backed up config files.

So far, I have tried using the user.ini and ut2004.ini from my backed up system folder. That did not work. I tried backing up and deleting them from the patched system folder. That didn't work. They are probably the same as the backed up files from the backed up system folder. The problem is in the user.ini file. I have downloaded notepad++. I have used it in the past for work. It has a whole bunch of plug-ins for various capabilities. I installed the compare plug-ins. I remember there being two of them to choose from. I have not gotten around to comparing the two user.ini files. I've been busy. I might be traveling for work next week. In that case, I will be absent for several weeks.

I think Piglet means:
Backup UT20024.ini and user.ini e.g. rename them to *.old

So they don't "exist" any more. (make sure they don't or the next step will not work)

If you restart the game it will create a new "clean" user.ini and ut2004.ini.
Test if you can open the voting menu.
If it works it is something in your previous ini's

If you edited your "old" ini's you will find soon enough what you are missing.
