Issues under Ubuntu
« on: November 09, 2010, 17:10 »
Hey
I have now installed UT2k4+kfmod on my 64 bit Ubuntu because it crashes after a while on my 32 bit Windows (amd bug).
However, It row runs better, but has some issues:
1. I can't see it's splashscreen I have on Windows
2. Some sounds (picking up money) sound a bit different
3.(most important part) I can't read the display of the welder (It's just a white screen for me)

Does someone have an idea how to fix that?

Yeah there's issues with numbers and 64-bit systems. Probably nothing you can do about that. Bug of KF I guess.

The splashscreen: try if UT2004 splashscreen works. Current KF splashscreen might not work because it's 24-bit. In linux BMP files should be 16-bit, I think.

Dunno about sound... maybe differences between Win/nix audio drivers result in different audio.

Thank s for your help!
Well, I have converted the splashscreen to less colors, but I still cannot see it...
Yes, that's what I think too: the audio driver seems to cause some sound problems..
But about the welder display: Does someone know how to edit it?
