Settings depend of your physical screen and taste.
( mine is a little washed out as i like this look and feel , but the gamma bar is always OK )
A good setting is important to make distinction between , lets say , a wall and a mob ...
A bad one and the mob already eat your brain ...
Gamma , brightness and contrast also help to don't break your eyes worst than they are already.
