:ok: To Snipe34,

Necro's video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJS4wli5K3Q gave me an idea. Can we use regular civilian skins for our player toon? Like the ones below?

OR

Yes?

Yep regular guys.  I recognized immediately the top dude as American, probably a NY subway driver?  The lower dude - the US President's ideas man, I think, so you're saying we use them as characters?

N3cro recommend this site http://archivetextures.net/ and I was dismissive about it because at first glance it has small textures and the 3d models are hi poly.  But, I was thinking about cars, which we need and civilians so I took another look.  I downloaded until i got blocked - dammit, i was just about to dl a full skeleton :/

Some of the models need their polys cutting drastically, but otherwise, sorry N3cro, the site was a real good find!
I wanted trees but smallest I found was 3mb (largest about 30mb) and without textures xd

Some examples (in Blender) of the downloads:   (btw n3cro, restart blender after every import)

The car even has bulbs and other stuff that can easily be cut, even the wheels polys reduced.  The basic structures are there, and that takes the time.

Not smoothed, and black face because i was messing around with it.  It's 3mb (kfz soldier is 357k).  But the model has many excess polys, easy to cut back - as I say, the basic shape is there.

Beautiful model, but it's way way too heavy on the polys.
hipoly woman

More polys in her face than the KFZsolider, the tank, pinzgauer and a couple of guns combined xd

A little hi poly, but change the balls, cue, table legs and supports and it will be good.

Blocked? What about reconnecting to your ISP to change your IP? ...Also starting webbrowser in private mode.

Why restart after each import?

Snipe, if you're ever looking for funding to help KFZ along, this might give you an idea where to look:

Previously known as: xS0NARx, Njordr, Latte, or whatever the "name of the week" was.

This is a mod, it doesn't need funding, although Raj could use some donations for his hard work on this site... even a dollar - not much but would make him feel you care.

Although, Sonar, if you know CS5 you could learn UDK huds and help me out with KFZ ;D

is that an echoing silence I hear...?   :awwwyea:

If you mean Photoshop CS5 - I know enough, probably not as much as Raj, plus for some reason CS2 is the only version that runs stable on my laptop.

If not Photoshop CS5 - Then I don't know, of course, since I don't know what else you'd be talking about.
