The GOG game key

GOG.com is a digital distribution platform with a curated selection of games, a "you buy it, you own it" philosophy.

However, when you buy UT2004 from GOG they supply you with a generic CD key which has been widely shared.

We have found that when cheats or problem players are banned they will often start to use the GOG key instead.

We have now banned the GOG game key from our servers entirely.

If you legitimately bought the game from GOG then they will provide you with a unique key to use. See below for details of how to request this from them. Of course, if you didn't buy the game from GOG and are using their game key, we suggest you buy a copy! It costs less than a single pint of beer.

How to get a legitimate (no warez) CD key for UT2004 purchased from gog.com.

All you have to do is click the "here" link at https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005054374-Unreal-Tournament-2004-Editor-s-Choice-Edition-Your-CD-key-appears-to-be-invalid?product=gog and answer the chatbot's questions. You'll then receive two .reg files (for 32 and 64 bit OS) in your inbox. These will overwrite the CD key in your registry.
