Something new to try for VCTF : Jump to the Double damage  (Read 13434 times)

This is something to try out to see if it makes for more interesting games.

Crouch (press c) while standing on or near to the assault rifle pickup just outside the base, and you'll be jumped up to the Double Damage ledge.

If you position yourself in exactly the right place you may just miss and rebound somewhere else (up or down depending on how you place yourself).

Sorry. You're not allowed to take spiders, rockets or flak up there.  >:D

It's currently running as a test. If it's fun then it may stay. Let us know how you get on.

welll.... it work twice, but is not easy, something rare with the place or something :/

Hmmm - any sniper in there should be able to be hit and has nowhere to hide (unlike at the sides and top). However, weapons can be added to the list....

But I dont understand how the delay works while crouching on the assault rifle
Sometimes its immediate and sometimes it takes like 3 seconds

Yup. It's a gamble. You get thrown some time between 0 and 4 game seconds. I'm not entirely sure how game seconds relate to real world seconds!

The funny thing happened. I got the flag, jumped on manta taxi and when manta was passing that place I just got thrown up to the sniper spot (over deemer spot, not under it).

Ha! You were crouched when it passed through the area at just the moment the check was made.

I wonder what logical state the player is when standing on a manta. I should be able to test for that if we can find out what the logical conditions are

I had a look and have updated the code. That shouldn't be a problem any more.

I got the test the wrong way round the first time, and it only worked when standing on a vehicle!

IF he sees you... the place is rather new for most players and I've hidden there for quite a few times now.. and no tank bothered to shoot one cautionary shot to that place even to check heh
