Height of Stupidity or Deception of Information?

Comments!

Point is can I drink tea (once a day) without the risk of catching diabetes (type I or II)?!

You learn UnrealScript mainly by reading other people's code. Removing code without an important reason (download size reduction and lack of helpfulness are not important in that sense) is extremely antisocial IMHO.

Antonius is correct. Excess sugar in itself doesn't cause Type 2 diabetes but can contribute to obesity and/or liver damage which *can* be a factor in developing Type 2. Other factors can be being not getting any exercise, age and other things including race.

Carbs get converted to glucose and the pancreas now has problems making enough insulin to regulate the use of this glucose in your blood. If you have Type 2 Diabetes then yes, you need to pay attention to how many carbs you put in your body and the type of carbs you're eating. Bad carbs = refined sugar, anything made with flour, crisps, processed stuff effectively. Good carbs = fibrous stuff - most vegetables, whole grains, beans etc.

There is no evidence that sugar directly causes diabetes 2, but the association is very strong.

Look at the conclusions of these meta-analyses (highest level of scientific evidence)

The present study showed that SSBs intake was associated with the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Considering the rapid increase in consumption of SSBs across the globe, our findings have important public health implications. Although the specific mechanisms were confused, we suggested that individuals should limit the intake of SSBs to prevent the development of type 2 diabetes.

Habitual consumption of sugar sweetened beverages was associated with a greater incidence of type 2 diabetes, independently of adiposity. Although artificially sweetened beverages and fruit juice also showed positive associations with incidence of type 2 diabetes, the findings were likely to involve bias. None the less, both artificially sweetened beverages and fruit juice were unlikely to be healthy alternatives to sugar sweetened beverages for the prevention of type 2 diabetes. Under assumption of causality, consumption of sugar sweetened beverages over years may be related to a substantial number of cases of new onset diabetes.

These results indicate independent associations between DM prevalence rates and per capita sugar consumption both worldwide and with special regard to the Asian region.

Obs: The pathophysiology of type 1 diabetes is completely different

Wow! nice to know, i have always wonder why people use refined sugar?---- i mean there is the no refined one and it is great, since a kid in my grandma house there was only "panela" that is "raw cane sugar", nobody in family has diabetes, and some of them love desserts.... anyway thanks for the scientific info Sup and always remember, tea, coffee and juice are best with no sweetener!

Where is Dr. Lyon when we need him? :D Excess sugar is a contributing factor but not a direct linear 0 and 1 relationship ;) But excess sugar leads to being overweight and a host of other issues (dental etc) and the point is why risk something that will ensure a lot of hassle for what it is worth.

As always if you play unreal for 1 hour, you need to walk outside for 1 hour min :D
