What do you do?
« on: August 09, 2024, 01:38 »
I'm curious what people do, especially the people I see on the server a lot.

I know some people are retired, and some players are students. I can understand these groups having a fair amount of free time to play.

As for me, I'm a software developer, so I usually play after work, but will occasionally take a break while I'm running a long build or otherwise have a block of free time.

How about the rest of you?

Molecular brain disease research (Alzheimer's & Parkinson's). I used to play a lot of touchscreen games with transgenic animals to investigate cognition and test new therapeutics. These days I design, make and manage the transgenic animal disease models used in the field.

Yes, I have to say, these weren’t responses I would have predicted.

You all are even more awesome than I thought!

Credit card fraud disputes, analysis, chargebacks & investigations. It's not as cool as it sounds, but my coworkers and I were directly involved in this:

Retired early this year from a tech role in a company with a $265+ billion revenue p.a.

Currently catching up with a load of house maintenance jobs that I'd not been getting round to. I've decided being up a very long ladder painting barge boards around guttering in the summer heat with paint that starts drying whilst on the brush is not much fun.
