Here are some nice examples of players showing their skills:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOg56M8hdYSKNtk2L-sIbCVNPb6lJBeu7

You might find this one interesting :)

was a bit diffuse in style, which might have been due to the re-entry in the game and the lack of knowledge of the maps :D
should have improved a bit since 10.2024 , but there is still enough potential for improvement :D
the knowledge of the strength of the other players and favoured positions certainly also plays a role here

Haha, know Ron, a lot of these recordings are on maps when I need a break or don't like to play so it's a momentum and does necessarily show the best of you...

each of us still has to improve, despite of our advanced age :D

@ Grim
the topic with the ut2004.ini is one I have to deal with more closely
because of UT2004 I will soon exchange my 10 year old Samsung 24" for a Dell UltraSharp U4025QW, 39.7" screen and I am curious how UT will be displayed in connection with 120 Hz, the aspect ratio and a customised ut2004.ini.
I will post a few experiences, maybe someone can gain something positive from my HW / SW setup

Is that new monitor 4k? I play fullscreen on 4k Samsung with 1080p resolution 240Hz refresh it look nice!

I don't want to buy a pure gaming screen, because I also need the screen for my home office and that's why I'm going to get the https://www.dell.com/de-at/shop/geschwungener-dell-ultrasharp-40-thunderbolt-hub-monitor-u4025qw/apd/210-bmdv/monitore-und-monitorzubeh%C3%B6r

from that point of view, the 120Hz & 5K should not only bring an improvement in gaming and hopefully also relax my eyes :D

Hello ronftl , welcome to the best ut 2004 server ever. This is Zacky (CR), veteran player of miasma and the MIA clan (now disappeared) I also returned to UT after my retirement around 2013 and after 11 years I really missed it brother, it was one of the first games in my life and I could never forget it Entering and playing more often makes you better every day, the more you are a good player, see you in the games, greetings...! 8) 8) ^-^

Hi Zacky :)

This game has a certain addictive factor, but this is also due to the variety of weapon types that can be used :)

I always find it very interesting how the ‘regular players’ and the occasional players in the group behave, when mixed up in a new session.
Who knows the strengths and weaknesses of the other players and who uses them to their advantage (of the team) :D
I, for example, already have learned pretty well from whom I have to hide and who is "sometimes" easy to catch in close combat with predictive shots ggg

greetings Ronftl ( real name Thomas )

I have a few devices I move between, but my main screen is an 35" LG ultrawide running at 100Hz (also curved).
I use foxWSFix v2.2.0 which supports widescreen, more on that here:  https://miasma.rocks/index.php?topic=1964.0

You can quickly change resolution by typing setres 5120x2160 (or your preferred res')

Thanks for the link / information !
I will take a closer look at the topic when I have the new screen

Nah. Bufty is the oldest I know of on the servers and he's playing Freon. He's lethal with rockets.

Said he was 80 the other day - I was like, geez and still nails me quite frequently! Props to Bufty!

Question from a relatively young hell: When I become 80, how will my mouse moving be affected (subject to my wrists surviving). Does mental capacity decline with age significant enough to slow down e-sports?  Sorry but I need to plan and check if I can do anything to ensure I play UT until the very end :D

If you write off the more mature gamer as being decrepit wrecks, your end may come quicker than you hope :)

While the older gamer may not be as quick as they once were, they can make up for it with guile & cunning.  At least I'm hoping that's what happens to me when I become old(er).

Take care of those wrists, let your gf do the work :D
• Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

He mentioned the other night that arthritis in his hands is the thing that hurts most.

I don't know his real name or much about him - but after he's talked in-game about his continuing health challenges I keep thinking of him and hoping he's going to get well.
