Thread revival again. Some time has passed, some new members.

Just wanna kind of vent at how happy I am that I no longer have to put up with Win8's shitty GUI. I finally remembered about looking up some visual styles and such, found a few nice masks to cover up Metro, and damn, does it feel nice. It's almost impossible to tell I'm running Win8 just by looking at it.

Wallpaper's pretty generic, ripped it from Google Images. Shellstyle is Elune for Windows 8. The Start Menu replacement I'm using is StartIsBack. It's a near-perfect imitation of the start menu in Windows 7 & Vista, and completely removes the need for the Tiles screen.

Y'know, I probably would run the actual Win98 OS if there were modern drivers and software for it...

You can't make Windows 10 look nice, they said. Good themes will never happen, they said. CUSTOM SHELLS will never happen, they said.

So I made one myself.

Still a lot of work to do, but it's an interesting experience I will say. Creating it in, of all things, Rainmeter. Start Menu and title bars are still the same, of course, but no taskbar. At least this way I can make things look the way I want.
