Linux version
« on: July 14, 2010, 19:10 »
Hi,
Some people asked me if there is somewhere a Linux version of the KFmod. Also I'd like to play the game on that OS.

Could someone compile this game for Linux, please?

It doesn't work on Linux?
I know it works as dedicated server on Linux, so it's probably playable too.

sudo ut2004 -mod=KFMod20

Or launch UT2004 and choose Community in main menu and there should be a list of mods.

Well, I'll try next days. I was confused about the windows executable file- I thought there might also be a Linux binary.

BUt I think there's one problem some linux users have: It only comes with an Windows installer - I have found no packed archive.

The executable is actually same as the .bat file.
But none of those files matter. They're like shortcuts - to run kfmod, you need to run UT2004 with the "-mod=KFMod20" parameter. That's what those files do.

And yeah,  there's no packed archive for linux. Just save the KFMod20 folder from your windows filesystem to linux one.
Under UT2004 directory.
