Katana model by CoreMaster

Hello!
My friend requested a Katana model and so i made one.
Im only a modeler, i dont texture and i dont animate so if there is anyone who may get this model textured and in game then its good.
Also please tell me what do u think about it and should i reduce the poly count?

Not bad! We can sure use more weapons like that. If you can make a spear too, then it would be great! Or better yet, a baton (expandable black jack) instead of a pipe!?

At a guess with all those curves, a couple of thousand tris?  Animation also requires a hand or hands to hold the model.

First I suggest you learn to texture otherwise it's kinda like offering a mapper some boxes and asking him to fill it in and make the map.

Just saying tex is the biggest part of modelling, I was trying to be helpful!
But besides that KF twi already has a Katana so I personally don't want one for Miasma KF - but that's only my feeble opinion.

Katana is a great weapon for close encounters, in the version on Steam I used it quite often and I think will fit, but the idea of the sword seems to me strange. At least I think so.

lol, Raj said similar about the sword, not to mention other comments :)

My argument is the Katana is Japanese, and the long sword is European and cba to make another one =D

I searched in internet on swords and I found this one that I thought was a nicer version for kF2.53/3.0. It's a Chinese sword (sabre) that you can include as another sword weapon. Maybe two kinds!?! A nice turdy whack in the head should do the work. Off with their heads! See picture below.

Cool and Gab was suggesting dual knives for the Berserker.  And knives are straightforward to make.  But I'm thinking of Hamada, him fighting KF bugs.  So I feel a little guilty if I make anything more and he has to play around with the code.  He's a great guy working for us all during his holidays.  He likes working with games but you know...  Tell you what, i'll make the knives and he may code it, he may not best I can do.
