KF-PanicRoom (my first REAL map)

Hi there!
I am a noob mapper, so don't blame me, for this map.
It's called PanicRoom and takes place in a bunker which is stormed by Clamely's zeds.


The zeds come frome here. You can see a glass wall with a door in the background.


This floor sure is dark. Look out for crawlers!

This is the console for controlling both doors.
You have to consider that you can't open/close both doors at the same time.
Also you have to be careful with welding, because you can only see the welding integrity on the console. (Actually I didn't want to do this, but it seems to be more realistic anyway, lol.)

Downscale the textures. They look so oversized and stretched. Not a nice sight on a HD display.

Just rightclick on texture and select "surface properties".
The smaller you make them the higher quality they'll look like.

0.5 is pretty decent, but 1 is ok too.



Also, downstairs, when your facing upstairs, there's a corridor on right - I got stuck in there.

I've updated the download link, it has much cleaner textures now (the pics aren't up-to-date anymore... :P)

This wouldn't pass the crash test - i've encounter a few bugs at start... :-[
Don't use glass textures on main walls and remember about lamps - they flying near walls.


And here another surprise. I walked inside zeds spawn corridor, but can't get out from there. Both corridors trapping me inside, what's not so funny.

Aaaah, I'll have to redo the ZombieZone Volumes.
But what's wrong with the glass exactly?

EDIT: I updated the link. Fixed ZombieZone bug and lamps.

Just look at screenshot with flying lamp. Did you see the white thing? That's i'm talking about - texture glitch. If you put glass texture on main wall, you'll get this glitch. There's nothing behind these walls, i mean nothing but emptiness.

...small funmap (but interesting layout^^) with some difficulties: the stalkers opened the panic room door from the outside xD
I wanna see what players on a full server will do at wave 7 :D

Ah and maybe you can fix the floating trader - the door flips through it in buytime - that looks ugly.

Nice small map. You can use other static meshes for your switches. The water cooler is kind of misleading.



Anyways, I tried the map and it was fun. But I died in the end. The patty got me.

Maybe is time to think about another map? More maps, more lessons, more experience... and finaly pretty good maps as result :3
