I just noticed "Error moving file?"  Is your ut2004 directory write protected? It sounds like it's trying to write into ut2004/cache and failing

It's true that the "read-only" tab was activated.

That's odd. Please can you send me your system/UT2004.log file?

If it has anything like Roger noted in his post here https://miasma.rocks/index.php/topic,2028.0.html , you could try that same solution.

I don't have the UT2004.log file in my system directory.

The problem is that I can't see any servers in the Internet tab. That page is empty. I tried adding the IP 80.4.151.145:7777, and it seems to open the current game on the MIA server, but it starts loading the game percentage and exceeds 100%. It continues loading, and the game never starts.

Helpdesk / Re: How do I access the MIA server? New UT2004 installation on a new PC

You should put the master server in you UT2004.ini
You can check at once if your directory is protected.

For the future some useful links:

If someone got ideas to what to ad or delete please (dm me on Discord)

I reinstalled Unreal Tournament 2004 from my original CD on a new PC, but I can't remember what change I need to make to access the MIA servers. I did it years ago on my old PC, but I don't remember. I hope someone can help me.

Also if you go into ut > join game > right click on background of ut screen then left click on "add to favourites" then cut/paste or type in the addresses from the server page. ie: 80.4.151.145:5777
Will save your mia freon server.

You may want to install the gamespy or something mod to see other servers on the internet as the UT2004 server monitors died the other year. There is a post on this forum about it I think.

Thanks for the info. I've already entered the address you provided in my favorites and my internet connection. I activated it, and it started downloading sounds, but suddenly it aborted: "Downloading package 'Player Sounds 2' failed: Error moving file."  I can't get into any map either.

[IpDrv.MasterServerLink]
LANPort=11777
LANServerPort=10777
MasterServerList=(Address="utmaster.openspy.net",Port=28902)

Thanks for your reply.
Which UT program file should I copy this information to?

Helpdesk / Re: linux clients unable to connect

I would be interested to see any changed .u files you have, to do a diff on the content. There may be changes that were intended to fix bugs - and I'm always interested in fiixing bugs...particularly if I can do it in a way that helps more people by doing it server-side serveractor or in a mutator that can be pushed to all clents that connect to the server.
